Seaburn Beach Clean
Last week, the three of us did our very own beach clean at Seaburn/Roker. This beach is our local and one we have visited since we were children. We are pleased to say the amount of litter was much less than we anticipated. But at the same time after 2 hours we filled 2 and a half bags. The majority was plastic bottle tops and caps and cigarette butts. Small microplastics were amongst the sand and seaweed, we tried our best to get what we could!
Seaburn and Roker beach are in their 11th consecutive year of winning it's blue flag status for their excellent water quality, cleanliness and amenities. Recent announced by @keepbritaintidy.
Thank to the public who came over and chatted and offered us encouragement and thanks. We were just happy to do our bit and will continue to do so!
